Highest performance version of Audi A6 model is the Audi RS6 model. Currently there is no production version of this vehicle from the introduction of the newest Audi A6 model. The Audi RS6 was on the top line of the second generation Audi A6. It was available as sedan as well as wagon also called as avant by Audi.

The Audi RS6 model was available with Audi's Audi's Quattro All-Wheel Drive system as well as 5-speed Tiptronic transmission. It was the same unit that was used in the 6.0 liter W12 model of A8. It was selected because not any transmission of Audi's can match with the high torque output of it.
