Audi S6 Introduction

A superior and high performance version of Audi A6 is the Audi S6. Short after A6 designation was introduced it went on sale by exchanging 100 nameplates. The original S6 car was very similar to the first generation S4 only difference between them are new body cladding and badging.

Audi was fair perpetually re-structuring their example card in first and mid-1990s, and in 1994 began tradeing the fifth propagation 100 example as the A6. Wanting to store a sports-sedan in their card, the party made little revisions to what had been badged as the S4, and began reselling it as the S6 - the S4 would yet get an all other penis of the card, founded on Audi's A4.

In 1997, Audi introduced the intermediate propagation A6 models. It was a good re-design, and an other S6 appeared in 1999 on the other program. Engine was a 4.2 liter 32 valve V8.

Quattro four wheel drive was again standard, as was a six speed manual gearbox with the optional 5-speed Tiptronic. As for appearance, the body panels were largely based off of A6 4.2 model, with flared wheel arches and door sills.

The third-generation S6 was introduced in the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January. It features a 5.2 L FSI V10 derived from the Lamborghini Gallardo, detuned to produce only 435 PS (320 kW/429 hp) at 6800 rpm and 540 Nm of torque between 3000 - 4000 rpm.
